The Crones are an all-female band with a twist. The members are all over the age of 55 and the set list comprises music by female-fronted 80s bands such as the Bangles, Patti Smith and Til Tuesday. Members include bassist Linda Harrison Millar, drummer Nancy Rogers Peters, guitarist Amy Walker, keyboard player Melissa Ulrich and vocalist Tracey Thomas of legendary ’80s Akron new wave band Unit 5. The band will makes its debut at Jilly’s Music Room on Thursday July 20 in Akron OH. There’s no cover. Then on Saturday July 29 @ 7pm they’ll be at the Tiki Underground in Cuyahoga Falls with Akron’s Missile Toe.

The brainchild of frontwoman Tracey Thomas (#Akronsound, Unit 5), THE CRONES play energetic and exciting cover songs from your favorite female-fronted New Wave bands of the ’80s. Tracey and her group of talented female musicians are all over the age of 50, and they have been rocking capacity crowds since their debut in July of 2023. Their rapid rise in popularity is easy to understand as the band’s seasoned musicianship shines through entertaining renditions of songs made famous by Blondie, Joan Jet, Kate Bush, Cindi Lauper, The B52’s, and many more.
